My oh my yes we are still alive what a crazy year it has been for the two of us. We moved into our new home on December 21st, just 2 days after 9 years of blissful marriage we finally have a home of our own and I LOVE it!! We were able to pick our lot and build from the ground up so every inch of our home down to the last detail we got to pick out.

But the truth to be told I have only lived in my home a total of 3 and a half weeks, I have been really quit sick and was in the hospital 57 straight days not something I would wish on anyone.

I am home know and I love it!! I really love my new jetted bath tub, in fact so much so my mom said my skin was going to dry out and Wade said we were going to have a crazy water bill, oh well I am making up for lost time!!!

I still have some boxes in the garage but for the most part were pretty much all organized, I just need to fill the baby. Well my quilting room is all decorated and Wade's media room is all furnished, and painted so I guess the important things are all set right!!

Oh my can you believe November is already here, it is crazy how time just flies by so fast. The Holiday season has already begun. I love the Holidays all the fun get together’s and festivities that come along with it, just thinking about it makes me all excited.

So I know it has been along time since I have posted last, things have been crazy. This year was not one that brought along with it good health for me, so I am sure hoping that 2008 is my lucky year. I have had yet again another major surgery I was in the hospital for 2 straight weeks, came home for 4 days and was back to the good old Hospital for another 10 day stay, not a place I would recommend anyone visiting.

On top of the hospital stay and doctors visits, we close on our house December 21st. I am so EXCITED!! But there are so many things to do from know till then it's crazy, but in the end I can finally say "HOME SWEET HOME!!

This last weekend we had two lovely visitors Wades grandparents come to Texas, it was really great to see them and catch up. We also took a little day trip to Weatherford Texas out in the country to visit some of Wades relatives for a get together, it was such a beautiful day and reminded me of where I grew up out in the country with the bails of hay. We took a little walk and climbed the fence to walk threw the fields and through the pecan orchard, oh the day's of childhood all came back to me, I loved every minute.

My oh my, am I so happy the LIGHTS for our home are all picked out. Talk about a task in its self. We had to go through and pick out each and every light for our house, even the doorbell button. But we are Finished. I can't wait till they hang the lights now. They have really been moving along with our house, so hopefully by January we will be able to move in, this will be a great way to ring in the New Year.

I joked with Wade that I am going to take a picture of our house to hang in my hospital room this week, as I have to go in for another major surgery Tuesday, And I am going to show the doctor and tell him I have to get to feeling better to clean this baby.
Oh I have a list of things that I want to do when I start feeling better.

Travel with Wade to San Antonio,
Make some draperies for our new home
Take some cooking classes.
Go shopping at Canton (suppose to be a neat place to visit in Texas, for house stuff)
Take some hair training classes
Go to the big quilt show in Houston Texas.
Visit my Grandma in Washington State.
Run a Marathon...

These are just a few to mention. And I am going to check each and everyone off very SOON, as "God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it."

Were so excited with the progress on our home, It is starting to feel real now. When it is an empty lot it is harder to picture your new home setting there one day.

We continue to love it here in Texas as yesterday was just beautiful Wade and I had a wonderful BBQ down by our pool last night as they had just put in a new Gas grill, so we are really enjoying this little treat, Grilling all sorts of Yummies.

Boy how summer flies by so fast can you believe Saturday will be the first of September, and with that brings Labor day a Long nice weekend. A wonderful time to relax and get in those BBQ's, Swimming pool visits, and hitting the malls for SALES while the weather is still beautiful.

The Party is started!!

Wow talk about progress we went out to our lot last night and they had poured the foundation. When we went tonight to snap a shot of our newly poured pad, they had all ready framed the first floor, so by the weekend they should have the second story done. Boy we were surprised.

I am so excited I have already met allot of my new neighbors and they all seem really nice, and I love my beautiful country view and sunset.

This Sunday I decided to do a little baking. I have heard all about they famous sprinkles cupcakes so I decide to do a little test kitchen baking and try to recreate these expensive little jewels. Here in Dallas they sell for $3.25 per cupcake and no they are not huge they are normal cupcake size. One day Wade got a couple and tried them, and he told me he thought I could probley re-create these little goodies. They sell the mix at William Sonoma but that still is 15.00 for 24 cupcakes, so I found some of there famous little dots and then went to town making them the good old fashion way from scratch!! So Wade and some of our friends did the taste testing and said I hit a home run with this recipe, that it’s a keeper!! -They said my new name is little Mrs. Budget Gourmet!!

(Hey Lani and David (i.e. my brother and sister in law) if you come visit I will make you some of these Yummy treats, and if you decide to be my neighbor I promise to make it a weekly treat!!)

We had a nice relaxing 4th of July. We were invited to some friends house and had a party, of course there was TONS of food, they did it Texas style, 10 time the food as people!!

Here is a picture of my lovely freedom Dip that I made. I had to make it festive with olives and tomatoes on top!! I had fun thinking of a way to make it nice and festive.

Then we went later in the evening to the to the Taste of Frisco and Freedom Fest. It was fun to walk around and check out all the neat festivities and Wade had to buy some famous Rudy's BBQ sauce and a Big black cherry snow cone.

The fire works we great and it was so (Texas) He HA like. Everyone was parked up on the lawn in their big Trucks setting on the roof, and the crickets chirping in the background. We had so much fun, and the Weather was so beautiful a Big change for once we have had so much flooding all around us.

I hope that you all had a Fabulous and Festive 4th of July!!

Yes we have finally found a new home!! We can't wait it will take 8 months to be built but the long wait will be worth it. We were able to pick every single thing we wanted in the home.

For those of you have not heard our first home was a no go. We found out Mid December that they would have to do a major design change to our home to accommodate the new city code requirements for the two air conditioning units that they had to upgrade to fit in the attic. Those changes would require them to lower the vaulted ceilings from 14 feet to 9. This drastically would change the appearance of the entire upstairs so we decided not to go through with it, as did the other 2 people who were building the same floor plan in that neighborhood. So neat less to say they now have 3 homes for sale with no buyers, and we were out to find a new home.

I always say thing happen for a reason, because I love this home 20 times better, and not to mention it is allot nicer neighborhood as we had been in the area for 6 months so we were able to take our time and really scope every possibility out and believe me we did. I think we have been to through almost every neighborhood, and model/ spec homes here in Frisco, and even some in Plano.

I am so happy to be able to stay in our same ward. I just love our ward, and we have already developed so many close friendships it would be hard to change wards again.

I loved going to the design center I had a ball. They design consultant laughed as I brought fabric samples and magazine clippings with me. So here is a little sneak peak at some of my picks!! And Yes I got my hand scrapped hardwood floors in my whole downs stairs I am so excited!!

I just had to have this door I love it, and the light shines through it so beautifully at night!! And yes I love my flowers so I had to have shutters and a little flower box added to the outside.

I will have a new full time job starting upon move in and that is cleaning this baby!! So we will have lots of room for guests!! As you know it’s just us two peas’s in a pod out here in Texas!!

So the Top questions everyone asks are?
• How long till its done? About 8 months.
• What colors did you choose? The pictures are a little sneak peak, but for the BIG reveal you have to come visit!!
• How big is it? 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths, 3 garages, a study, media room, game room, and a tech center. (About 5,000 sq feet) I know just the 2 of you!, and NO I am not getting a dog, no animals in the house.
• Did you get a sewing room? Yes and it has a window seat!!
• What is you favorite room? Oh I don't no I love my kitchen and double ovens, my big utility room with cabinets and sink, and I have a huge pantry, I am so excited I will be able to see all my cans, and will have tons of room for food storage!! Oh and I almost forgot my closet!!!

I know I have not posted in a while and everyone’s next question is how are you feeling? The reason I saved this till last is you don't even want to go there!! My health is Crazy; I try not thinking about it. But here I go after 2 surgeries and 5 weeks post operation I started to have allot of pain in my stomach and it had a spot swell the size of a goose egg, neat less to say after being put back in the hospital, and being opened up with a mini in house operation they discovered it that the internal operation site was infected so I am now waiting for that to heal. And in the August time frame most likely will have to go in for another surgery to fix a problem that came up after the second surgery so lets just say I am on Baylor Dallas’s most preferred customer list!! Ha, Ha!! So my new song of the month is "Ain't nothing going to get me down oh know you got to keep on movin"!!

As for other that Dr.s visits what have we been up to? Wade has been traveling allot for work, He has been to Wichita falls, Hawaii, and North Carolina within the last month and a half, so he has been one traveling man. He was able to check out a few sites, and visit his Grandmother, aunt, and cousins in North Carolina where his family is originally from, that is why he is a die-hard Tar heels fan!!

I was so lucky to have my mom come stay with me two different weeks while Wade was out of town and I loved every minute, except when she had to go home, this is always the hard part as I miss her so much when she leaves, I really miss the rest of
My family that I have not seen in over a year as with the move and my health. I have also found a new Love!! Tailoring (sewing clothing!) I am hooked I have already made two skirts, and a shirt to match, and did some taking in of some other clothing now I am addicted.

Well I think in this one single post I tried to catch you all up on what we are up to, I know I need to post more often but sometimes life gets so crazy and I get so tired so early these days its not even funny. But in closing we love you all so very much and miss all our friends and family and cherish all the moments and memories we share. So remember each day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending so Dance to the song of life!!

Happy mothers day to all the mommies out there.

We had a wonderful day. We each mailed our mothers a card and a gift and then talked to them on the phone to wish them a wonderful day and tell them how very much we love them!!

The weather here in Texas was just beautiful at 91 degrees I was in heaven. We were invited to some friend’s house to enjoy mother’s day with their family. The dinner was fabulous and it was neat getting to know some more Texas folks.

I was in charge of bring the dessert so I decides to make it a neat little center piece also so the mothers could take some of the little rose home after we enjoyed the dessert.

Wow am I glad to be home!!! from February to the middle of April I have been in the hospital a total of 33 days!! Not something I recommend to anyone. So this time I hope my little intestines work and decide not to stat doing anymore loops. Lets just say that the second surgery was not any easier than the first so my little stomach is a LOT tender!! It does not want anymore sharp objects coming towards it.

So you all must be wondering what one does to keep busy so you don't go insane. Well most of the time you don't feel to well or want to do much but on the last few days before coming home I just about go crazy. So this last time I went to the hospital prepared and armed with lots of stichery projects to do. And lets say that I finished all but half of one that I had taken.

I love making them into little shabby chic pictures and pillows.

And on one of the nights of my hospital stay they were having tornado warnings all around down town Dallas were I was, boy was the sky creepy looking while I was lying there in bed looking out the window there were terrible black clouds moving in so fast and so much debre flying around in the air, and then the T.V. went fuzzy. But we were lucky it did not hit us as hard as it did 15 miles away.

Pot Holes!!!

As many of you know I always refer to Wade and my life as a highway. I always use analogues and try to be positive and find humor in all things!! But I do have to say lately I think that our highway of life has been a rough one with many potholes!!

I can not even begin to list them all, but I can say that I have one gift that I have been given from all this and it is that through all this adversity I have become a lover of life itself and appreciate life and love it in a way's that I have never known before. I look at simple things and tasks and they bring me such joy. Just yesterday the sounds of the chirping little birds outside the window and the blooming popcorn trees outside are things I might have seen but not have taken a minute and noticed and thought of and thanked my heavenly father for the beautiful things he created for us here on earth.

So let each day put a little magic in your life and a little laughter in your heart!!

Oh my what a year so far!! We are still alive!! I have a good excuse for not posting though. I have been at the doctors office or in the hospital. My crohns just got to sever so I had to have surgery to remove my colon/ whole Large intestines, and appendices. So I was in the hospital for 24 days from February to March. Lets just say valentines day in the hospital is just not to romantic!! After the surgery I thought I was out of the wood works but not even a week later I was back at good old Baylor hospital in Dallas!! I have still had some problems after the surgery but where just watching it so hopefully ( as I always say life is a highway) so hopefully where on an upward slope from here on out!!

But we are still alive and in good old Texas!!

Christmas is almost here!!

I want to wish all my dear friends and family a VERY MERRY Christmas!! This year we are spending the holidays here in Texas!! This Weekend we took a little weekend get away to Granburry were Wades grandparents live. We took them out to dinner then we all went home and gathered around the nice warm fire place watched a movie, and talked till 1:00 in the morning. The next morning the Guys woke up and went to play a round of golf while the nice warm sun shine was out, while us ladies stayed home and grandma baked all kinds of goodies!!
Merry Christmas !! I hope everyones holidays are full of fun, traditionas, and family!!

Taking flight!!

So Wade scored his DREAM JOB!! He is still with Cisco Systems, but will be working for the U.S. government supporting their Networking/ Security systems at the U.S. Air force bases.

Wade always dreamed of being a fighter pilot and would LOVE to ride in one. Well he is going to get the chance to work on many different bases and I am sure see all the fighter planes till his hearts content. Maybe perhaps we'll score some sweet tickets/ special privileges to some of the air shows.

He will have some travel involved but most of it is here in the Texas area with 3 bases in the San Antonio area. So I guess I will get to be his little travel (Wing man), and get some exploring of Texas in. I have always wanted to go check out the river walk, and Austin is just an Hour away from San Antonio so I am sure we'll be visiting their quit often. Watch out I am going to have all the good shopping in Texas scoped out.

When Wade is not on site he will have the opportunity to work from home and never will have to go into the office, so no more cubicle life!! I am sure this just breaks his heart. One really nice thing about are new home is that it has a beautiful separate office with French doors so it will work out just perfect for this position.

P.S. - Texas got hit by that wild cold front, Snow, ice , and freezing rain. The temp dropped 40 degree's in 1 hour no joke. Wednesday it was 80 in Dallas and on Thursday it was 28 degrees. I really do not like cold weather so I am hoping the next front that rolls in is a heat wave!!

They Broke Ground!!

Wow it's been a while since I have posted!! I bet people are wondering if we are still alive. Man this time of year can get busy with all the holidays. From attending parties and events, cooking, and Christmas shopping boy can time fly.

I am so excited they have finally broken ground on our home, I know it's crazy they are just starting. You would not believe the homes gong up on our street alone there are like 7 under construction. One good thing is they will all be done when we move in so that will be nice no noisy construction going on by us.

This Thanks Giving we stayed home and had our own little feast, lets just say that we still are eating leftovers.
Herb roasted turkey
Creamy mashed potatoes
French bread,sweet sausage &herb stuffing
Green beans, bacon with toasted pine nuts
Hot butter parsley rolls
and
a pumpkin chiffon pie.

I though if your going to make dinner you just as well go all out, but I am definitely not doing this again for a long time it takes like all day!!

I REALLY, REALLY wish I had been in my house with my new kitchen. One really big thing is getting used to using an electric stove/oven in our apartment, I am so glad that our home will have gas and an island, with lots of space.

We finely were able to get some digital pictures of what the inside of our home is going to look like, here our a few to give you a little glimpse.
So were definitely still alive, enjoying Texas, and still waiting to get into our home!!

My New IMAC!!

My Computer blew up and when I say BLEW UP, thats an understatement. Last Tuesday I was in the other room while wade was in the living room working away on his lab top when I heard all this beeping, buzzing , and screeching. I thought it was one of Wades Tests he was running, since he is working from home remotely and is running tests on routers over his lap top I thought oh my gosh there must be a real bug. After a few minutes I came into the living room and said to wade " How long is this testing procedure going to last?".

Needless to say I did not find him in the living room but in our computer knick next our computer that was going CRAZY. We finally got it shut down, but after that it never come back on, the mother board totally went out. I guess our little computer did us well, it was a wedding gift to us from Wades parents and lasted a good 7 and a half years.

But I do have to say I am totally in love with it's replacement. A 24 inch IMAC, and everything is totally wireless. Since the new I Macs can run 2 operating systems mac os and Windows, and Cisco gets a GREAT discount, I was sold.

I was able to look at Wades lab top for a week, while ours was being shipped ,but I was so happy to hear the Fed Ex man at our door with my new toy!! P.S.- Thank you apple for messing up and sending it 2 day delivery for free instead of standard!!

We have gotten out a little and done some more site seeing, we found that we are a lot closer to Dallas than we thought about 15 minutes. We went and checked out the Galleria shopping center and boy is it fancy, and big, 4 storys including the ice rink. Ice rinks in malls must be very popular here in Texas because the mall right next to us also has one.

I saw an article in the news paper that read Happy Hallowthanksmas!! That is about right these day's the retailers get so excited about the pending holiday season that they seem to be jumping the gun earlier and earlier every year. One of our malls here in Texas already had x-mas decorations up and hanging in the mall a week ago, their not even wait for after Halloween Now. Sad I want to relax and enjoy the special molments,fun, and spirit that each of these holidays represents.

October has arrived and the Fun of up coming Holidays has begun. I always love this time of year, and what a fun way to kick it off with Treat-or-Treater's, Holiday decorations, and pumpkin carving!!

Last year me and Wade had a fun time carving our pumpkin we made it nice and scary and then hung comb webs and spiders all over our front porch!! But or decorations did not stand a chance to those in the Los Gatos Neighborhood . I have never had so much fun as the 2 years we went to down town Los Gatos on Halloween. About 2 blocks from down town they block of sections of streets and have a a block party. They must spend tons of $$$ Money on Decorations and candy "I mean these houses are all decked out with fog machines, live disco and dance floor lining the drive ways, and all sorts of high tech electronic gadgets . Its a ball to see kids and adults alike all decked out in costumes " Doing the Monster Mash"..

Were going to have to find a new happening spot to have a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween this year! I've already talked Wade into buying me a yummy caramel apple for my Halloween treat, (They have a rocky mountain chocolate factory down the road) the only hard part is deciding which one I will choose!!

So does any one have any fun and frightening plans for Halloween?? (Except eating goodies, and getting a tummy ache..) P.S. a little tid bit about Wade the first year we were married I bought like 4 bags of candy bars several weeks before, on Halloween day I got in the cupboard to get them out and the were all GONE except 4 little bars!!!

Get the party started!!

So my house is suppose to be started any week, So I keep thinking to myself get the party started already!! There is just tons of new construction and homes being built in the area, and trying to get the city of Frisco building permit takes forever when everyone under the SUN is trying to get one.

I think that I am loving this area more and more everyday!! First of all I am totally in love with the weather here it has been 95 degrees with humidity, what a way to ring in October!! I saw the forecast for the next week and it is Fabulous no rain and in the upper 90's all week long, only getting down to the low of 74 at night!! I know people laugh at me because I am still always cold wearing jackets and sweaters, but hey these people love the AC like I have previously posted.

Second thing in the running is we took a nice little Sunday drive in Wade's new commuter car, A new Honda Civic Ex which gets 30 to 40 miles per gallon!! Third the Gas price's $2.08 a gallon, and fourth the Dallas temple is only 17 minutes from our house, which is so neat to have everything so convenient and close to home.

So my housing prediction is looking about right, they told me 6 to 8 months and I just took that as 8 months!!! So to keep everything on track I am hopping for no April showers and forget about the May flowers!!

Fall Is here!!

Oh my fall has arrived, Sunday will be the first of October. Fall is always a fun time of year, I remember growing up all the excitement Halloween brought, picking out a costume, going trick or treating, and all the yummy candy.

Although here in Texas the store shelves are packed with fun crafty things and goodies, the temp's outside make it feel like summer this evening at 7 p.m. it was still 82 degrees outside, and let me say I AM LOVING IT!!

We have a cute little tree outside our apartment and little acorn's are all over the ground so I decided to pick up a few and add them to my fall center piece. A lot of you know I love candles, so I have broke out the fall scents "PUMPKIN NECTAR" , it smells so good I think I could fool someone into thinking I was baking spice cake and apple cider.

So I would love to hear how everyone is doing.... I realized my comment thing was not working..So I called Wade to the rescue and now it's up and running.. Just click on the bottom of the post where it says comments and post away, let me know how your ringing in Fall this year!!

Let the THUNDER roll!!

Wow did we have a thunder and lighting storm you would never believe last week. I am not kidding it was like something you would see out of a movie. The Rain was pouring so hard that the storm gutters were just gushing with water, the lightning was so bright that it lit up our whole entire apartment, and the thunder was so loud that you could actually hear people in our apartment building screaming. Wade loves this kind of thing, and had to check it out by going out onto our patio, I had to go tell him to come in before he got hit or something crazy, and I could not believe it, it was so hot outside even with this crazy storm going on. ( I call it our free welcoming , Light show!!)

Wade is just loving having his Grandparents close, They live on a really nice golf course, where his grandpa marshals at so they can get on the Greens for free, take out a cart, and go to the driving range and hit a bucket of balls as often as they want for "FREE" So he loves hitting the course with Grandp's for a little friendly competition. They always come back and both have to brag about how well they did, except this time I am wondering because grandpa came back and gave wade a nike golf ball with the word "Mojo" on it.

What's for dinner???

So With the kitchen unpacked and the fridge stocked, the question arises "what's for dinner??" I must say a good home cooked meal is truly nice. I love to cook, and exchange recipes with my friends and family.

After the road trip, getting things unpacked, and not feeling well... I have had enough dining out for a while.. I still to this day can't stand the thought of Chile peppers (New Mexican food!!). And don't get me wrong I love Mexican food, just not that variety.

So today we went to the design center so exciting seeing everything coming to life. They said that our home is out of the architectural stage so that they should start ( Breaking ground) in three weeks :)

Today the weather was just perfect 93 in September I am in heaven!! So today I felt quite a bit better so I got out a little and went to explore the area, there is anything and everything you can imagine right here in frisco all the major stores and restaurants you can think of and then some. And they did it Texas style BIG.

I decide to check out the local quilt stores in the area I have really enjoyed taking Quilting and design classes in the past but have been so busy these last few months traveling and with having to pack most of my sewing stuff up, I have not had a chance. I found quit a few neat shops online and have already got them map quested. I have already informed Wade that Texas has the biggest quilt show in the nation, right here in Huston so that for sure will be a nice little weekend get away..

Well I never did answer my question what's for dinner?? Fresh broiled and seasoned orange roughy fish, Rissoto, and a nice garden salad.. (p.s. it was yummy!!)

The Check List!!

My oh my the things to do when you move and no less out of state, building a house, Ect...
One good thing I must say is the check list is starting to show several things being marked off.
One big task was getting the car re-licensed (10 Big points go to Wade for doing that one!!) Lets just say after the bumper sticker wording on cars reading "CALIFORNIA INVASION" we wanted to get our plates changed pronto. This task is a little more time consuming than most coming from CA, We had to get an out of state inspection, then go to the auditors office to get appraisal/plates, then contact CA dmv to notify them ( according to the TX DMV people). We still have not yet done our licenses I have not felt up to the whole dmv line thing, One big yeh ha for Texas is you don't have to take the written test again.

One fun thing on my list is to go to the design center for our home for a few more things, I am so excited!!

The fridge is stocked. When you move across the country you have to start from scratch and restock, restock, and restock... Things you just take for granted you have, ( butter, Mayo, ect..)

I am REALLY LOVING the heat and humidity since I am always cooled.. P.S. If you go in a store, ect.. Down here man do they LOVE the AC, (jacket time.)

One thing for sure is these TEXAN"S love meat... Steak houses everywhere.. When we crossed the Texas state line there where signs advertising 72 oz.. Steak .. For real..

My Crib as Mtv calls it ( Apartment) is feeling more like home the boxes are gone.. That makes me so happy, but the thought of doing this again in 8 month's.. Yuck, although I just tell my self the house, the house, the house...

So I do have to laugh we called to set up cable but it will takes a week for them to come set it up so I just set in my rocker stare at it and tell wade, "Nice plasma, I Love the picture!!", although then he dug around in some boxes and found a series of Indiana Jones DVD's and has been watching them ever night... I need to go to Buster, I can't take anymore, between that and wade listening to talk radio ALL the way here in the car, and now on his lab top... The people who call in to those shows.. Lets just say ISSUES.. On a side note... This one is for Wade's Brother (DAVE) no were not going to do as you do and use bunny ears on a plasma... I seriously died laughing, I can't believe you actually do this... ( NOW THAT IS A REDNECK), you buy a plasma and use bunny ears...

all is worth it in the end because "WERE ALL" just loven TEXAS!!

We made it to Texas!! I was extremely excited when we finally arrived. We had some fun little bit stops along the way, but the driving days were LONG the shortest day was 10 hours.

I have had a really bad flare in my crohns, which really started to get bad on the road trip. On the last morning of waking up in Santa Fe to head to Texas I was truly glad that this was the last leg of the drive.

So needless to say I have had a real welcoming to Texas, I have already had to visit the ER, and a ride in a ambulance to be transported to another hospital where they could treat a crohns patient, as the first hospital I was admitted to was a surgical hospital. (Not my Idea of a welcoming tour!!)

It is hot and today it was TRULY humid we had 90 degree weather the sun shining and the rain was pouring!! Wade loves lighting so he got a little light show this evening.

I am already on the count down for my home to be done. Our apartment is really nice don't get me wrong, but it will be nice being all settled in. Right now we have a 1 bedroom and then we rented a garage to use for storage, and it is FULL, as I only unpacked stuff that we would need to get by for 8 months instead of going threw the full ordeal of packing and unpacking everything!! But I am very happy to say that my Sewing stuff fit and made it inside.

Ok My road trip has truly been an adventure!! First I think that I have seen some scary people along this road trip, When we have had to stop in towns for gas and for my potty stops I mean some of these towns look deserted.

Albuquerque is a different, really laid back town everything closes at 4 on Sundays and at 8 and the week nights. So we rolled into town at 7:45 and asked the front desk where to grab a quick bite to eat, needless to say everything was closed or had just closed except 1 restaurant, which was so Spicy hot I thought it was going to burn my insides alive. I ordered a shredded chicken enchiladas and they brought me a fried green chili with green sauce all over the top, that one -did not fly so I had to wait for them to bring me the right thing and I contemplated later if it was spicier than the green chili.

The old town had a old church and when we walked out from eating at 8:30 the whole town was quite and deserted, like the old west.

So today we got off early and headed to Santa Fe, I love it here there are boutiques all over and a cute little down town. Lots of neat southwest stuff and jewelry, but really laid back and relaxing. I had to laugh when I tried on a ring and the lady looked at me and said do you feel the energy the beads bring, the only energy I felt was to take it off, and get out of there.

Where staying at a resort/spa, and I have to say that when I get my new house and KING sized bed, I am getting a feather bed just like this , It's heaven in New Mexico for sure.

Today we hit some more sites!! I think that I am in culture "SHOCK" things seem so quit, there is no traffic, not a lot of people, and FREE parking . I thought being down town and a holiday weekend around temple square it would be a little crowded. I think I am used to San Fran.. After 5 years in California, bumper to bumper traffic, driving around for hours to find a parking spot ( That is in a garage your paying to park in per half hour). I guess this cross country road trip is just slowly easing in all the Culture shock I will have in Texas. Humidity,big pickup trucks, Big houses, cheap groceries, country music, and everyone waving as you drive past on the road. All the previous stated things fly in my book it's the Big hair , tight wranglers, and line dancing your never going to catch me doing!! So the day's our Honda CRV is parked and were taking in sites I'm pumped, it's the day's, we do 10 hours of driving I have to try to get siked for. Let's just say when we get to Texas I am going to roll down the window stick my head out and SCREAM " YE Ha, were here in HE Ha!!) - you have my word on it.

Tonight we went to dinner at the Roof of the Joseph Smith building, It was just beautiful the view was to die for we sat right by the window directly across from the temple spires. They had a pianist playing wonderful music and with the breath taking view it was so peaceful.

Today we were off to see a lot the sites!! We were real tourists for sure, armed with a camera, travel brochures and maps, minus the 80's fanny pack that I must say people really do still sport today.

We were first off to Temple square, then to the new conference center, and then the other many building's around temple square. Today love must have really been in the air because I saw ton's and ton's of brides around the temple and in our hotel armed with the long white garmet bag in one arm and the couture pink stripped Victoria secret bag in the other. ( I just had to laugh).

We had to hit Cafe Rio after we had several friends tell us that we could miss grabbing a bite to eat here while we were in Utah. Wade was in heaven as he had to have the pork burrito.

Life is a Highway!!

Oh my were Out of the bay area!! This is the last stop we took, after we turned in our apartment keys and hit the road for Texas!! p.s. ( I got my entire deposit back, for my apartment, as you can tell I was very happy about that)

I thought that this picture would be sentimental on day as Cisco is what brought us to the bay area and is where we lived for 5 years, but our journey of life is now taking us to Texas!!

There is a reason for my blog entry title today, Our ROAD TRIP to Salt lake , "YES" the song is true and it came on the radio as we were driving "Life is a highway, I'm going to ride it all night long!!" We got into Salt Lake City at 11:30 p.m. after driving all day, Never, and I mean never will I drive that way in a car again. All I saw was deserts, prisons, and salt flats. This is not the type of drive that you take with someone who has Crohn's!! FYI there are no Bathrooms!!

So I am over joyed to be here and I am ready to hit the sites!!

Oh my what it takes to move packing, cleaning, and disconnecting and re-connecting of utilities. On top of that all we bought a home to be built as you could see it in the picture below ( Ours will look just like that except we choose a little bit different color of brick) so we have had to do so many fax's with signed paper work, and I don't think I have ever over- nighted so much stuff Fed Ex in my life. But as I say Having a home of my very OWN will all be worth it!!

I am excited for our little road trip to Texas as we have decided to make a little road trip out of it. We will stay it Salt lake city 3 nights , I have never been there ( Yes I am LDS!!) so I am very excited to see everything, you always see the beautiful buildings and temples on T.V. at conference time but I will actually be able to take in all these wonderful things in person. Then were off to Albuquerque NM, and Santa Fe for a few nights, which both sound very neat. I hate riding in the car!!! We have driven to Washington to visit our families 3 times and I can honestly say that it is one of my worst nightmares ever!! As you know we are "Two peas in a pod"!! No kids. But I honestly think that Wade believes I am a Kid , Wining and such when we travel. I mean I try hard but I have to watch myself from saying how much further, I need to pea, is there a mall coming up soon?? But I must say this road trip I am Very excited for , because of the neat pit stops we will be taking, and the final destination will be a exciting chapter to our life's!

We are so excited to be soon on our way to Texas. Were so excited for the things to come. There are always lots of thing to do when you move to a new state but the anticipation of a new home and all that awaits is so exciting!!
